Young men, angry language and the language of anger

After starting a Young Men’s Anti-Violence project which involved running workshops on issues of ‘gender and violence’ and homophobia, Mark and his colleagues were often asked to run workshops to assist young men to ‘manage’ their anger. Despite reservations, they developed and ran a workshop on this topic. This paper discusses many of the issues that arose, as well as ideas behind the concept of young men and anger. It provides a range of practical ideas and suggestions as to ways of speaking with young men about anger.
